The Institute provides financial support for superior academic research projects with potential applications in the field of investment management. The Institute Research Committee runs the research program under the leadership of its chairperson and the Institute Research Coordinator. The Committee solicits research proposals, funds projects, approves final reports, and disseminates the results.
The Research Committee seeks projects that promise unique approaches and insights into problems of significance to investment professionals. The Committee gives special consideration to projects that bridge the gap between theory and practice. Research projects have included studies in financial economics, applied securities analysis, and the use of quantitative methods in financial management.
All research results are made available to the Sponsors of the Institute and, in many cases, are published in professional journals. To date, the Institute has funded over 300 research projects.
